Description A sliding sash window. Material 90% in FSC Certified Scandinavian Redwood. The external Hemlock linings are sourced form sustainable and managed forestry, complying with the Canadian Standards Association. Preservation All timber components are double vacuum impregnated with a preservative, to protect against insect attack and fungal decay. Performance The window has been independently tested to BS 6375 Part 1, in accordance with the test methods of : BS.EN.1026: Air Permeability BS.EN.1027: Water Tightness BS.EN.12211: Wind Resistance Weatherseal The window is fully weathersealed satisfying the requirements of BS 6375 Part1 “Air, Wind and Water permeation”. Glazing Windows are internally beaded with external mouldings imitating the appearance of putty glazing Glass The window can be factory glazed up to 26mm dual seal Kitemarked double glazed units or with single glazing to satisfy conservation requirements. Beads Ovolo shaped beads are fitted as standard. |
Glazing Bars Bonded bars are used to achieve the slim sections of traditional glazing bars. These are applied with double sided tape on both sides of the sealed unit and are available in many configurations. Cills A flush softwood cill will be supplied as standard. A projection cill can be specified giving a 25mm extension from the face of the frame. Hardwood cill options are an optional extra. Horns Shaped featured horns may be specified on all Heritage windows. Fittings All fittings are brass as standard. A lockable fitch fastener to the meeting rail and two finger pulls to the lower sash. Windows wider than 1085mm will have a second fitch fastened fitted. Ventilation A controllable ventilator can be fitted into the head. One vent is fitted to windows over 630mm wide and two vents to windows wider than 1085mm. Restrictors Brass restrictors are optional on windows and limit the opening of the sash to approximately 100mm Factory Finishing This is a highly recommended option. To ensure the smooth operation and optimum performance of the window, paints are spray applied, achieving a quality of finish unobtainable with traditional methods. |
